Photo Journal Walk at Lincoln Park

It was a cold, cloudy afternoon on New Year's Eve when I took my stroll at Lincoln Park, which was conveniently located about a few minutes from my house.  I took a walk along a path in the upper section of the park where a small forest can be found and later moved on to the lower portion which went along a beach.  Even though I was just walking, it was for an hour and a half, so physically, I felt a bit exhausted; I even felt my heart pounding in my chest.  Between the time I started and finished my walk, I took photos of what I thought were interesting things, as shown below.

This is a picture of what I believe to be a bird's nest, high up in the trees.  I found this interesting because I enjoy bird-watching and it makes me wonder what kind of bird made this nest (if it is indeed one).
This is a picture of a fork in the road I encountered near the beginning of my walk.  For me, this seems to represent the many paths I could take to college, each leading to a different career.  While I was taking my walk, I had trouble deciding which path to take, which parallels my indecision as to what college I'll go to and what career I'll pursue.  When I came to this path, I felt anxious as to which path to take, but I eventually settled on one; this parallels my anxiety about what college I'll go to and my (hopefully soon) decision of which one it will be.
This photo is of a gray squirrel that was following me for some time early on in my walk.  I found that intriguing because wild animals like that don't normally follow me.  I have to admit that I felt a little worried that it would follow me for the entire walk, but fortunately it scurried back up a tree.
This is a mess of random tree branches and plants.  I took this photo because it seems to represent myself on the inside, confused and anxious as to what I'm going to do after high school (as stated above).
This is a photo of a view from the path I walked.  I thought that this was a great view to take a picture from because it looked pretty despite the fact that it was a bit cloudy; the sun was still shining through, however, resulting in an attractive picture.
This is a picture of a lone crow standing on the top of a lamppost, not really doing much.  I found that interesting because this is kind of like me, being somewhere all alone doing my own thing while other people are socializing with each other.  I'm sure that the crow was planning to do some socializing with other members of its species, but the point still remains.
This is a picture of the ferry dock taken from the beach.  I took this picture because I admit to liking the ferry a lot and the dock, along with the boats near it, make for a great picture.

This is a photo of the sun shining on the water with some logs on the shore.  This picture is remarkable to me in that it's a pretty setting for a picture, which I admire.

This is the path that I returned to my dad's car by.  I felt a feeling of accomplishment when I came back because on the way, I took a wrong turn and got lost, but I managed to find my way back.
As for the rest of the above pictures, they're photos of seagulls and waterfowl; I took pictures of them because, as I stated before, I enjoy bird-watching and it makes me wonder what kinds of waterfowl those birds were.
In general, during the walk I felt a bit relieved that I was walking outside and taking a breath of fresh air, which sadly was something that I didn't do much during the break.  Also, I frequently asked myself about what I wanted to do with my life, though I was sidetracked by other thoughts like video game music and film score entering my head.  All mental distractions aside, however, this was a great and somewhat enlightening walk that helped me clear my head a little bit and admire the beauty of God's creation.  It's possible that I'll take more walks like these in the future.
